FC Kairat are set to make their first-ever appearance in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. They have only previously featured in qualifying twice in 2021-22 and 2005-06.

The Nations Team pulled off a sensational comeback against KuPS in the last round, overturning a 2-0 defeat in the first leg by winning the second 3-0. They had already upset the odds by knocking out Olimpija 3-1 on aggregate in the opening round.
