Ugo Humbert is the 13th seed for the Cincinnati Masters. Round one sees him have a potentially tricky match against unseeded Jordan Thompson. The winner will take on either Marcos Giron or Sebastian Baez in round two. Here's our Humbert v Thompson match prediction.
Humbert had an excellent first half of the year with two hard court titles being won. He has struggled to maintain that momentum but is still 17th in the live rankings and a place lower in the ATP Race. Reaching the Tour Finals is still a possibility.
He needs to rediscover his best form and last week lost in round two of the Rogers Cup to unseeded Nuno Borges. This is his first match against Jordan Thompson and it could well be a fascinating one with his opponent also needing to get back on track.
Thompson is 32nd in the live rankings and that would earn him a seeding at the upcoming US Open. Can he hold onto that position though? Last week he played in Montreal and after beating Jack Draper, he lost to Alexander Zverev winning just two games.
