We're guaranteed an unseeded player in the final of the Cinch Championships. Jordan Thompson takes on Lorenzo Musetti for a place in the final. There's only one seed left in this grass court tournament and that's the fifth-seeded Tommy Paul. Musetti has only reached two ATP Tour finals but neither were on this surface. The Italian had never won at Wimbledon until last year when getting to the third round. He was the 14th seed last year but began this tournament ranked 30th. His run to the last four at Queen's Club has seen him climb to 27th and can rise to 25th if winning this match. Round one of this tournament saw him come from a set down to beat the second seed Alex de Minaur. He followed that up with wins over unseeded Brandon Nakashima (in three sets) and wild card Billy Harris in straight sets. There's been one previous match against Thompson, a hard court win in Adelaide this year.

Jordan Thompson had a nightmare time on clay and then lost in his first match in the Libema Open last week. The Australian has rediscovered his form though and is one match away from his third ATP Tour grass cout final. The other two were both in the Netherlands. He was 43rd in the latest set of rankings. He's now up to 38th and winning this match would take him up to 31st and a Wimbledon seeding. Thompson beat the seventh seed Holger Rune in round one after losing the first set. Only five games were played in his second round match before Andy Murray retired. That took him into a match against the fourth seed Taylor Fritz and he won that in straight sets.
