The stumbling block ahead of Brooksby is a former champion at Houston. Tiafoe came to Houston on the heels of a third round defeat in Miami and he has done well.
Having beaten Adam Walton, Alex Michelsen and Brandon Nakashima on his way to the final, Tiafoe is a clear favorite here. On his way to a third Houston Open final, Tiafoe hasn’t dropped a set yet.
He will hope to avoid his previous failings against Brooksby. Back then before his opponent’s suspension, Tiafoe suffered straight defeats in their two meetings. In encounters at Washington (2021) and Atlanta (2022), Tiafoe lost in straight sets.
