Viktorija Golubic and Jasmine Paolini will be facing off for the first time in four years. To mark their fourth career meeting, they clash in the second round at Wimbledon. While she ranks higher, recent form doesn’t earn Paolini a favor in this prediction.

Paolini didn’t have the dream start to her grass season, as she couldn’t get past the first round in Eastbourne. She recovered from it to win her first match here, beating Robin Montgomery in three sets.

In matches against players ranked outside the top-50, Paolini has struggled, winning just five of the last 10. She's also lost three of her previous four meetings with Golubic.

The Italian, a former Wimbledon finalist, has managed to go past the second round here just twice before.

Golubic will be fired up for this game, looking to build on her head-to-head advantage and also pushed on by her superb form. This is her 11th appearance at SW19, and helped on by good form, the Swiss will hope to better her quarter-final finish here in 2021.

Her performance on grass has so far been encouraging, Golubic reaching the Nottingham semis and the third round in Rome and Roland Garros.

The 33-year-old is coming off a three-set win over Iryna Shymanovich in the first round, which gives her the push to extend her 3-1 advantage over Paolini. Seven wins in the last nine grass matches have Golubic 47th in the live ranking.
