Liudmila Samsonova is playing in her first ever Grand Slam quarter-final. The Russian is up to 17th in the live rankings and will move up to 12th if beating Swiatek. Doing so would be the first time she's beaten the Pole after four losses but this is their first grass court match.
The 26-year-old is yet to lose a set in this tournament. One seed (Daria Kasatkina) has been beaten but it was tough on Monday with Jessica Bouzas Mineiro beaten 7-5 7-5. Only one set has ever been won against Swiatek.
