The second match on Day 2 at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship sees Ian White taking on Mervyn King. The winner of this match between Diamond and The King will meet either Rob Cross or Cor Decker in the second round. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Ian White is back at the Ally Pally for a 13th time this year, but his best performance came way back in 2014 when he reached the quarter-final before bowing out to Simon Whitlock.
Diamond has not won a major televised title but does have 13 Players Champions/ European Tour wins. He reached the PC9 and 12 finals this year, but lost to Gerwyn Price on both occasions.
However, White enters this competition on a five-match losing streak. His last victory came in the first round of PC31 back in mid-October.
Meanwhile, Mervyn King has one of the most extensive World Championship resumes, having competed in over 15 editions, though this is his first return to the competition in three years.
The highlight of this year for The King was battling back into the Ally Pally field. He also claimed a Challenge Tour title (event 11) in May - his first PDC title since 2018.
King has lost his last four matches ahead of this one, but he did beat this opponent 6-3 in July at the PC23 event.
