Hugo Grenier vs Roberto Carballes Baena Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Barcelona

Hugo Grenier has an unexpected first round match against Roberto Carballes Baena in round one of the Barcelona Open. The world number 159 actually lost in the qualifying rounds but has been reinstated as a lucky loser. He lost in straight sets to Shang Juncheng having previously beaten Nicolas Alvarez Varona. Now he has the chance to get to round two and a match against Lorenzo Musetti who is seeded tenth for this outdoor clay court tounrment. Grenier has had a poor year to date and failed to get past the last 16 of any tournament he's played. Before this ATP 500 tournament, he played in the clay court Challenger Tour event in Madrid and lost in his first match. 

Roberto Carballes Baena is 72nd in the latest world rankings but was as high as 49th last October. This is his sixth clay court tournament of the year as he played on the South American tour. That didn't go too well for him with only one of his five matches won. It went much better for him in the recent clay court tournament in Marrakech. He made it all the way to the final where he lost to Matteo Berrettini. That was a tounament he'd won the previous year. He's also won 20 clay court tournaments on lower tours so has had far more success than his opponent on this surface. We tip him to  beat Grenier in straight sets.
