The final match in week seven of the 2024 Currie Cup will be a bottom-of-the-table clash between the Griffons and Griquas. The hosts are currently in eighth place in the standings while the visitors are seventh. Let’s get into the match prediction.

It’s been another difficult season for Griquas as they find themselves second bottom after six weeks on eight points and already trailing the top four by 11. 

So far, they have posted a record of one win and five losses, though they have picked up four bonus points, all by way of tries scored. Evidently, the major issue has been their defence, which has already conceded 242 points in the competition. 

Last week, the side from Kimberley headed to Durban to face the Sharks and lost 40-21. However, they have gotten the best of their upcoming opponents in recent times, beating them home and away last season. 

Meanwhile, the Griffons have continued to be the whipping boys of the Currie Cup this season, as they are rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points after six games.

Those points were both bonus points, one for tries scored and the other for losing by fewer than seven. They have already conceded 339 points this season and have a points difference of -211.

The Griffons were beaten by the Blue Bulls 55-21 last week and have now failed to win a Currie Cup match since week four of last year’s competition.
