Giro - Stage 21 Predictions & Betting tips - Giro d'Italia
by Matthew Newman |
So, this is it. A quick jaunt around Rome on a genuine stage for the sprint men while Simon Yates is on parade in the Maglia Rosa that he won yesterday. It has to be the quick men that our prediction for Stage 21 of the Giro covers.
The natural place to start is with Olav Kooij. He is the quickest man in this field and he has a win in the Giro to his credit already. He was led out perfectly by Wout van Aert that day but what the Belgian has left in the legs after Stage 20 when helping Yates to overall glory for Team Visma will be interesting.
Mads Pedersen put in a huge shift on Stage 20 as well so he might be another who is going to have less in the legs for the final sprint than would otherwise be the case.
It could be that Kaden Groves has plenty to gain from all of the above, the winner of Stage 6 and runner-up in Stage 14 didn't over-exert himself on Saturday and that should allow him to at least gain another podium to end the Giro.
Others to consider who have already shown up well in sprint stages include Casper Van Uden who won Stage 4 and Sam Bennett who will be desperate to get something out of the Giro after a disappointing run of results.
