Second seeds Germany take on 13th-seeded Croatia for a place in the Davis Cup finals. Countries are playing in the second qualifying round this week attempting to claim one of the seven remaining places in November's finals. Germany include in-form Alexander Zverev in their team and our prediction is they will win this match..
This tie is being played over the best of five matches over the 19th and 20th of September. It's being played on an indoor hard court in Halle, Germany. The first match sees recent US Open champion Alexander Zverev take on Croatia's Ivan Dodig who is 41 and ranked 171st in the world.
Needless to say, we believe that Zverev will get his country off to a winning start. Next up, Daniel Altmaier takes on Dino Prizmic and the Croatian is 103rd in the rankings, 34 places below his opponent. Neither player is in good form so this is a tough one to predict.
The third rubber is the doubles and both of Germany's players are top ten ranked, though Croatia have world number nine Mate Pavic. Then the two reverse singles are played and with Zverev in such good form, Germany look like needing to win just one of the other matches to progress to the finals.

Our Germany vs Croatia Prediction
Germany have reached the Davis Cup semi-finals in both of the past two seasons. They have Alexander Zverev in their squad and the US Open champion will have had time to recover from his title triumph in New York. They also have two top ten ranked players in the doubles.
This is a tough task for Croatia who are seeded 11 places below their opponents. Ivan Dodig has played nine Davis Cup singles matches and only won two of them. Just one of Dino Prizmic's singles have been won. Our Germany v Croatia prediction is Germany wins.
