A tight game could be on the cards as two struggling attacking units of Serie A, Genoa and Roma, meet this weekend. This match #4 of the 2024-25 campaign will be played at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Sunday, with our prediction favoring a low-scoring game.

Genoa are 10th in the standings after three matches, with four points to their name. Roma are 16th after three games, with only two points to their name, and only above the bottom-three on goal difference. The home team were beaten 2-0 by Verona in their last match before international break, a result that ended their unbeaten start to the season.

Including a win in Coppa Italia, Genoa won two and drawn one match before that result against Verona. The challenge, however, is finding ways to score goals, as they could only score once across their last two matches. Roma would have had an uncomfortable break too, spending it closer to the bottom-three spots. The Giallorossi had a pair of 0-0 results against Cagliari and Juventus on matchdays one and three, a prime reason for their poor standing in the table.

Sandwiching those results was a 2-1 defeat at home against Empoli, leaving the visitors with just two points and one goal. They will hope to quickly find some strikes as Roma look to end a five-game winless sequence away from home in Serie A.
