France host Japan on Sunday and will be expecting a comfortable home win over their opponents. Japan have had some good wins against lower-ranked sides but this is going to be tough for them. Here's our prediction for this match.
The big news for France is the return to the side of their captain Antoine Dupont. He won an Olympic gold medal for France in the summer playing sevens. Now he's back in the XV game and it's a major boost for Les Bleus.
France went on a run of 14 straight wins heading into the 2023 Rugby World Cup that they hosted. South Africa knocked them out and France have been inconsistent since then but did finish second behind Ireland in the 2024 Six Nations.
Their most recent match saw them beaten by Argentina but they had recorded a previous win over them while on tour.
Japan have lost their last two matches with 105 points scored against them by New Zealand and Fiji. They have had wins this year over countries such as the USA and Canada but struggle against the best teams in the world, including other losses to England and Italy with 94 points scored against them.
