Italian Grand Prix Predictions & Betting tips - Formula 1
by Devesh Jaganath |
Formula 1 arrives in Monza this weekend for the Italian Grand Prix. Oscar Piastri leads the driver standings with 309 points, Lando Norris is in second with 275 points, and Max Verstappen rounds out the top three with 205 points. Let's get into the race prediction. We witnessed a thrilling final qualifying session at Monza on Saturday, and after an hour or so it it was Max Verstappen who claimed pole position for the 2025 Italian Grand Prix.
The Dutchman was put under major pressure by Lando Norris but produced a blistering time of 1m 18.792s to clinch P1, 0.077s ahead of the Brit.
Driver champion-elect Oscar Piastri was only able to manage P3 and will be out to protect his 30+ lead at the top of the standings, though the primary focus will be to get by the Red Bull.
On their home circuit, Ferrari largely failed to impress, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton unable to improve their final practice sessions and finishing in P4 and P5, respectively.
However, Hamilton was later slapped with a five-grid speeding penalty and will now start in P10. Outside of Verstappen, Kimi Antonelli arguably had the best qualifying session for P7 (now P6) just off George Russell's Mercedes.
Gabriel Bortoleto put in yet another solid effort for P7, while Fernando Alonso and Yuki Tsunoda also finished in the top 10 on Saturday.

Our Italian Grand Prix - Formula 1 prediction
While the three leading drivers are expected to dominate proceedings, there is still plenty of action in the battle for points and we have been particularly impressed with Gabriel Bortoleto in recent weeks. He's finished in the points in two of the last three Grand Prix, and we feel he will do so again at Monza. Our Italian Grand Prix prediction is Gabriel Bortoleto points finish.
