British Grand Prix Predictions & Betting tips - Formula 1

Round 12 of the 2024 Formula 1 season heads to the iconic Silverstone Circuit for the British Grand Prix this weekend! In what has been one of the most entertaining F1 seasons in recent history, Max Verstappen currently leads the driver standings with 237 points, Lando Norris is second with 156, and Charles Leclerc is third with 150 points.

Britain has a 1-2-3 for the 2024 British Grand Prix! This marks the first time since 1968 that British drivers will occupy the top three positions on the grid. At the front of them all was George Russell, who rose to the task on his home track to secure pole with an incredible time of  1:25.819, 0.171s ahead of Mercedes teammate and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. Indeed, it was a rare day in the sunshine for Mercedes, but they will have to contend with this season’s most improved driver Lando Norris, who will start in P3. Norris started the final laps in second place provisionally but was pushed back to third place after abandoning his final attempt due to reported errors with the McLaren. 

In what was both a tricky and ultimately disappointing day for championship leaders Red Bull, defending champion Max Verstappen was only able to manage P4 after his pace was compromised by floor damage sustained when an error saw him drive through Copse corner during the wet Q1 session. Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez, was a victim of the same error earlier in the day, though his ended with greater consequence and the Mexican will have to accept starting from the back of the grid. Nico Hulkenberg managed his best starting position this season of sixth and he will line up alongside Carlos Sainz. Lance Stroll, Alexander Albon and Fernando Alonso round out the top 10.
