Into week seven of the 2024 Currie Cup season we go, and kicking off the weekend’s action will be the Pumas taking on the Blue Bulls on Friday evening. The hosts are in fourth palace after six rounds, while the visitors are leading the standings. Let’s get into the match prediction below. 

We’ve seen a significant shake-up in the table this season and the Pumas are one of the sides that have experienced a drop-off from last term as they find themselves currently holding on to a qualification spot by the skin of their teeth. 

Last season’s runners-up enter this week’s contest off the back of a 55-12 shellacking by the Golden Lions in Johannesburg last week, which left them on 18 points, including four bonus points. 

They now return to Mpumalanga to take on the league-leading Blue Bulls, who they have not faced as yet this season. The hosts have played three home games this season and won one, drew one and lost one. 

Meanwhile, the Blue Bulls have been in excellent form this season and are the only side in the competition that are still unbeaten with a record of five wins and one draw heading into week seven. 

The Pretoria-based side put in another commanding performance last weekend, as they romped to a 55-21 victory over minnows the Griffons at Loftus Versfeld. 

That result brought up the Bulls’ fourth try-scoring bonus point and saw them maintain a three-point advantage over the Golden Lions in second place on 23 points.
