England are bidding to win a tenth successive match this weekend. It's going to be an almighty task to do so as they face the All-Blacks at the Allianz Stadium (we all still call it Twickenham). Here's our match prediction.

Last weekend saw England defeat Fiji and that followed a convincing home victory over Australia. They have home advantage this weekend, recall several key players and have what's being called 'the Pom Squad' on the bench.  They haven't beaten New Zealand since 2019 but the momentum in their squad is high at present and this could be the weekend when another win over the All-Blacks is achieved.

New Zealand won in Scotland last weekend but their performance will have boosted England's hopes of a win. The All-Blacks were strong in the first half at Murrayfield but a late flurry was still needed to get an away win. Can they get another win at the Allianz Stadium?

England - New Zealand: Form Analysis

England have won nine games in a row since losing in the Six Nations to Ireland. That's included a summer tour win in Argentina and recent home victories over Australia and Fiji. It's all building up to the 2026 Six Nations campaign where they'll hope to go one better than this year's second place.

Close matches are the norm in recent years.

It was in the 2019 Rugby World Cup when England last beat New Zealand. Four games played between England and New Zealand have produced three wins for the All-Blacks and a draw. The combined winning margin for New Zealand in their three wins has been just ten points.

Last year saw New Zealand win at the Allianz Stadium by just a two-point margin. That made it four wins in a row against England at this venue, last being beaten in 2012. The All-Blacks have won their last four internationals since that heavy 43-10 home loss to South Africa in September.

New Zealand also lost an away match against Argentina in this year's Rugby Championship.

England & New Zealand Squad Analysis

George Ford is back at fly-half in the England team. Also recalled is Freddie Steward at full-back and Tom Roebuck has recovered from injury and will play on the right wing. Captain Maro Itoje will start after initially being on the replacements bench last weekend. He’ll be partnered by Alex Coles.

The Pom Squad.

A problem England had last year was ending games poorly due to a sub-standard bench but that’s changed this year. England have a very strong bench aka 'The Pom Squad' that includes Will Stuart, Ellis George and Luke Cowan-Dickie, all members of the 2025 Lions squad.

As you may expect, New Zealand also has a powerful bench and it includes Wallace Sititi who was World Rugby’s breakthrough player last year. He has fond memories of the Allianz Stadium after setting up a try against England in 2024.

Sititi showed his importance to the All-Blacks when coming off the replacements bench to score a try against Ireland two weeks ago. With Damian McKenzie and Anton Lienert-Brown also on the bench, New Zealand will be ready for any changes England make.

England can expect a tough physical time in the back row with Simon Parker a major threat. Their captain Scott Barrett has recovered from the injury that kept him out of their win over Scotland last weekend.

England - New Zealand Key Points

  1. England have won their last nine internationals.
  2. New Zealand have won their last two games but in both victories lost one of the halves.
  3. New Zealand lost two matches in the recent Rugby Championship.
  4. England only lost to New Zealand by two points last year and have improved since then.
