England vs Malta Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro
by Steve Ashfield | in Euro Prediction
England can confirm themselves as winners of Euro qualifying group C with a home win over Malta. The Three Lions are top of the group with a three point lead over Ukraine who have played a game more. England have already qualified for the finals in Germany and will look to get three more points against bottom-of-the-group Malta. Gareth Southgate's side have one more fixture to play after this game, a trip to North Macedonia (currently fourth) on November 20. For Malta, it's a case of getting themselves ready for the next UEFA Nations League campaign as they are bottom with not a point to their name and another defeat looks more likely at Wembley on Friday evening.Limited Offer. England - Malta: Form Analysis
England have been at the top of this Euro qualifying group right from the start. They won 2-1 at Italy in their opening group fixture, avenging their loss to the Italians in the Euro final two years ago. Gareth Southgate's side went on to win their first five group games before being held to a draw in Ukraine. Their last qualifier saw them complete the double over Italy with a 3-1 home win. That impressive win over the European champions ensured that the Three Lions will be in the Euro finals next year. England have won all three of their home games in this group with 12 goals scored and only one goal conceded. Their last three internationals have all been won and they are unbeaten in the eight games they have played since losing to France in the 2022 World Cup.
Malta continues to struggle at this level and have lost all seven of their group games. They are doomed to finish bottom of the group and are seven points behind North Macedonia. The Reds have only scored a couple of goals in their seven games with 18 conceded. The reverse fixture with England was played in June of this year and was lost 4-0. Of those four goals, one was scored by Malta and two came from the penalty spot. Malta have conceded seven goals in their three away group matches, the worst defeat being a 4-0 loss in Italy. Malta have actually won twp matches this year, beating Luxembourg and Gibraltar in friendly internationals. Those are their only two victories in their last 11 games. The last three have all been lost with nine goals conceded, seven in the last two.

England & Malta Squad Analysis
England have had several players pull out of their squad for this home Euro 2024 qualifier against Malta. Jude Bellingham, Levi Colwill, James Maddison, Lewis Dunk and Callum Wilson have all withrawn due to injury. Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and Ezri Konsa have all been added as replacements. Marcus Rashford and Kalvin Phillips will join the squad later than the other players due to personal reasons. That might rule them out of starting this game. England still have a far stronger squad than their opponents and it shouldn't affect their ability to win this match. .
