After five successive defeats England look to get back into winning ways on Sunday. The Red Rose host Japan and their critics will really have a field day if England can't win this match. Recent weeks have seen them lose to South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Three of those five straight defeats have been at the hands of the All-Blacks. England have been in winning positions in the games against New Zealand and Australia but lost both of those matches.
Japan will not present England with the type of challenge seen in their last five matches. The Cherry Blossoms did get a win in their last match but it was against Uruguay so success was fully expected for them. They have had some heavy defeats against the very best rugby union teams in the world and although England have been struggling in recent matches, they did easily beat the Japanese side away from home in the summer. Here's our match prediction.

England - Japan: Form Analysis
England will be wanting to end their five-match losing run. It's been a tough run of fixtures for them with three matches against New Zealand (two away from home), Australia and world champions South Africa. Perhaps only the match against Australia was one that England really expected to win. When it comes to playing Japan at home, it's a match they will be fully expecting to win and by a comfortable margin.
England bid for another big win over Japan.
They played this weekend's opponents in Japan during the summer and ran out 52-17 winners. That continued their 100% record against the Sakuras and that will be their main aim this weekend. Losing to Japan on home soil would be a total disaster just before the Six Nations.
Japan's current world ranking is 14th which is seven places below that of England. Last weekend saw them beat Uruguay but before that they lost 52-12 away to France, losing the first half 31-0. New Zealand were faced at home in the summer and they conceded 64 points in that match.

England & Japan Squad Analysis
England have lost their three autumn internationals but this is no time to panic. Only two changes have been made from the side that lost 29-20 to world champions South Africa last weekend.
Curry and Furbank start for England.
Tom Curry and George Furbank both come into the starting line-up. Curry had been missing games due to a concussion and he replaces Chandler Cunningham-South who will be on the replacements bench on Sunday. George Furbank will be full back this weekend and he replaces Freddie Steward.
George Ford has been left out of the squad for this game and his replacement is Fin Smith. Jamie George remains England captain and the vice-captains will be Ellis Grenge, Ben Earl and Maro Itoje.
Dylan Riley will hope to continue the good form that he has shown for Japan. In the number nine jersey for this game against England will be Naoto Saito and he forms a halves pairing with Nicholas McCurran.

Our England vs Japan Prediction
England dare not lose this match against Japan. They have lost five successive matches and their confidence can't be that high at all. It'd sink even lower if they fail to beat Japan at Twickenham. The two sides met in Japan this summer and England had a comfortable win with 52 points scored.
Japan got a win over Uruguay last weekend but they have also suffered heavy defeats against New Zealand and France, Our main England v Japan prediction is England to win on a -28 points handicap.
