We'll have an unseeded player in the last 16 of the clay court Italian Open. Emma Raducanu takes on Veronika Kudermetova with the winner facing either fourth seed Coco Gauff or 32nd-seeded Magda Linette. Here's our match prediction.

Raducanu is up to 45th in the live rankings. A couple more wins in this WTA 1000 tournament would see her climb above Katie Boulter and regain her British number one spot. The 22-year-old admits that clay isn't her top surface but says she's gradually "finding her feet."

This is only her 23rd match on clay since turning professional. Three of her four matches played this year have been won though. So far in Rome, wins have come against Maya Joint (in three sets) and lucky loser Jil Teichmann. Those two matches lasted just over four hours.

Veronika Kudermetova is seven places below her opponent in the live list. The 28-year-old has won seven of her ten clay court matches this year. This is the second time the Russian has made it to round three on clay this year, the other being in Madrid.

Like her opponent, Kudermetova lost to Marta Kostyuk in Spain. This week has seen her get wins over Lucrezia Stefanini and Amanda Anisimova. Both were won in straight sets but the time played was just a minute less than Raducanu has played.
