Elina Svitolina vs Simona Halep Prediction & Betting Tips - Wimbledon Qualification, England

Simona Halep is the seventh seed for this tournament, one place higher than her opponent. Halep may be a former world number one but this is only her second Wimbledon semi-final. This is her first appearance in the last four since 2014 when losing to eventual runner-up Eugenie Bouchard. Halep clearly has the game for grass as she also made it to the quarter finals here in both 2016 and 2017 and is now only two matches away from winning only her second Grand Slam title. Halep has been consistent in this tournament and has only dropped one set to date. After edging the first set of her quarter final on a tie-break, she won the second set against Zhang Shui 6-1.

Elina Svitolina had never reached the quarter finals before this year. Despite being ranked as high as third at one stage, this is her first appearance in a Grand Slam semi-final.  She didn't have a great warm-up for this tournament losing both of her matches. It's been beter over the past week though with only one set has been dropped by her in this tournament and that was against Maria Sakkari in the third round. Svitolina has won four of her six previous matches against Halep but this is their first meeting on grass. Their most recent meeting was in Doha at the start of this year when Halep won in three sets.  Halep has looked impressive in her last two matches and the tip is for her to beat Svitolina.
