Top seed Dominic Thiem will be out for revenge in the semi-final of the ATP tournament in Vienna. He takes on third seeded Matteo Berrettini who beat him in the quarter finals of the recent Shanghai Masters. Thiem has made it through to the semi-finals of this tournament with three wins over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Fernando Verdasco (who he lost the first set to) and Pablo Correna Busta, who retired in the first set when 5-0 down. Thiem has been in good form of late with a win in the China Open last month beating Karen Khachanov and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Earlier this year he had three other tournament wins including Indian Wells, so isn't just a clay-court specialist.
Matteo Berrettini is seeded third for this tournament. He's currently ranked 11th in the world, six places behind his opponent. He has had some tight matches already in Vienna. The first round saw him beat struggling Kyle Edmund in three sets after dropping the first set. Since then, Berrettini has beaten Gregor Dmitrov in two tie-breaks and Andrey Rublev 7-5 7-6. His opponent should come into the match fresher after his short quarter final. This is Berrettini's third semi-final in the space of two months. He lost to Rafael Nadal in the US Open, then Alexander Zverev in Shanghai. He has won three tournaments this year and on hard, clay and grass courts. This should be a tight match and the tip is for Thiem to get the win.

Matteo Berrettini has also had a good year and could easily end it in the top ten. He's had a tough run to this semi-final though and the tip is for Thiem to get a win.
