Current WBC Super Lightweight Champion Devin Haney takes on Ryan Garcia with the title on the line in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight is set to start in the early hours of Sunday 21st April UK Time at the end of a packed undercard. One of the master technicians of the art of boxing Devin Haney has won all of his 31 fights, 15 by way of knockout and 16 via decision, although his last knockout came 10 fights ago when knocking out Antonio Moran in Round 7. His last eight fights have all gone the distance and he has beaten a number of top names in that run including Jorge Linares, George Kambosos Jr. (twice), Vasilliy Lomachenko and in his last fight, a devastating and dominant performance to win the WBC Super Lightweight title to become a two-weight World Champion after previously winning the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring Lightweight titles.
Ryan Garcia has earned himself a reputation as a big-hitter in the Super Featherweight, Lightweight and Light Welterweight division and he drops down a weight to take on Haney at Super Lightweight. The 25-year-old Californian has won 24 of his fights, 20 by KO and suffered just one loss, a 7th round TKO to Gervonta Davis in the fight before last. Since then he beat Oscar Duarte by an 8th round knockout and has defeated Emmanuel Tagoe, Luke Campbell and Javier Fortuna in some of his most recent fights, with only Tagoe taking him the distance. Garcia is ranked sixth at Super Lightweight in the WBC and he will start the fight as the heavy outsider to land the victory against the Champion.
