The second half on Day 1 at the 2025 Darts World Grand Prix at Mattioli Arena kicks off with Danny Noppert facing Jermaine Wattimena on Monday evening. Noppie is ranked 14th, while the Machine Gun is 24th, according to the PDC World Rankings as of the cut-off date. Let’s get into the match prediction!
For a second year, Danny Noppert receives a tricky opening fixture at the World Grand Prix. Last year, he lost to Gerwyn Price in the first round of the competition.
Noppy has not won a major title this year, but did reach the semi-final at the World Cup of Darts alongside Dirk van Duijvenbode and the semis at the 2025 World Masters.
The Dutchman lost to Jeffrey de Graaf at the PC30 competition last week and has a record of six wins and four defeats in his last 10 matches.
Meanwhile, Jermaine Wattimena’s best-ever performance at the World Grand Prix came in 2019 when he reached the quarter-final stage of the competition.

However, Wattimena is not carrying the best form into this competition, having suffered first-round exits in each of the last two Players Championship events over the last week.
