Fifth-placed Crystal Palace play host to champions and league leaders Liverpool for matchday six of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign. Will the Reds be able to continue their perfect start or will the Eagles pull off another result against them? Check out our match prediction below!
With five wins from the first five league fixtures, Liverpool’s title defense is off to the perfect start. They’ve already built up a five-point lead over second-place Arsenal, although it’s still early days in the season. They’ll now be looking to exact a measure of revenge over their opponents after Palace beat out Liverpool to the Community Shield in the season's traditional curtain-raiser.
Indeed, Crystal Palace have fared quite well against Liverpool in recent encounters, posting a 2-1-1 record when factoring in the penalty shootout triumph in the Community Shield. However, the champions have been the dominant force in this particular fixture, winning nine of their last 10 trips to Selhurst Park. The bookmakers clearly believe that Liverpool have what it takes to once again experience success in South London, but it might not be quite that simple.

Crystal Palace - Liverpool: Form Analysis
Crystal Palace have experienced a strong start to the season, especially as they’ve had to juggle the extra fixtures after battling through the playoff round to make the league phase of the Conference League.
The hosts come into this one unbeaten in their first nine fixtures this season across all competitions, although six have ended in draws after 90 minutes. Their most recent appearance saw them win 2-1 away from home against West Ham, increasing their points total to nine and leaving them just one point off the top four places.
Liverpool have secured a late winner in five of their six matches this season across all competitions.
It’s been a remarkable run of 80th+ minute goals to keep the Reds’ winning run going. A 2-1 home win over Southampton in the EFL Cup in midweek was the latest, with Ekitike scoring the winner in the 85th minute to send them through to the fourth round.
Liverpool players and fans likely won’t care too much how the points are coming, but they haven’t been overly convincing in their performances. They gave up a two-goal lead against Bournemouth, allowed 10-man Newcastle to peg them back for two goals, needed a stoppage time penalty to get past Burnley and required one of the goals of the season to breach the Arsenal defense.
As things stand, the visitors are riding a seven-match winning streak across all competitions.

Crystal Palace & Liverpool Squad Analysis
Fans will be hoping they see the return of key player Ismaila Sarr, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury. The Senegalese attacking midfielder was excellent last season, racking up 12 goals and seven assists in 47 appearances, and was already off to a strong start this year with two goals in his three league fixtures.
Big summer signing Yeremi Pino was forced off at half time against West Ham with a knee injury, but he is expected to take part in some capacity in Saturday’s match. Also missing out for the hosts is Caleb Kporha, Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure.
The in-form Hugo Ekitike was foolishly sent off in the EFL Cup win over Southampton.
This makes manager Arne Slot’s decision as to who to lead the line an easy one. Record signing Alexander Isak opened his Liverpool account in the last match, scoring the opening goal before being substituted at half time.
Isak hasn’t fared all too well against Crystal Palace when playing for Newcastle. The 26-year-old has managed just a single goal in six matches, although it was scored in their most recent meeting in April of 2025.
The only other players missing out in this one are Stefan Bajcetic and young defender Giovanni Leoni, who suffered a heartbreaking ACL injury in the last match and is set for a long spell on the sidelines.

Our Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction
Liverpool are off to a flying start, but there is a sense that they have been riding their luck somewhat and the defense in particular has looked vulnerable. Palace have demonstrated over the last 18 months that they do not fear the title holders and will have gained plenty of confidence from their Community Shield victory over them back in August.
The hosts have the tools to walk away with a result at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Our Crystal Palace vs Liverpool prediction: Crystal Palace or X.
