Croatia vs Spain Prediction & Betting Tips - Davis Cup

Croatia are up against hosts Spain in the Davis Cup quarter finals. The Croatians are the favorites here due to the fact that Spain are without both Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal. This match is also being played on a hard court and Spain would prefer it to be on clay. The absence of the players ranked first and third in the world is of course a major blow for the Spaniards. They will have Roberto Bautista Agut and Pablo Carreno Busta as their two singles players. Busta is currently ranked 13th in the world and has reached three quarter finals in recent months, though he has only beaten one top 20 player in that time. Agut is ranked 21st and recently reached the last four in Basel. He's won all five of the Davis Cup matches he's played this year, though only one opponent was ranked in the top 100. For the doubles, Spain have Marcel Granollers who is ranked 17th in that format of the game. Spain won their Davis Cup but did lose 2-1 to Canada.

Croatia also finished second in their Davis Cup group. Italy were the group winners and they beat Croatia 3-0. Wins over Sweden and Argentina saw them qualify for this quarter final. Their singles players will be Marin Cilic and Borna Coric. Cilic is ranked 17th and didn't play in the group stages, so he will strengthen their team. His best recent performance has been reaching the final in Tel Aviv in September. Borna Coric has been rising back up the rankings and is 26th. He won the Cincinnati Masters in August and then got to the last four in Vienna, beating both Hubert Hurkacz and Stefanos Tsitsipas. He won two of his Davis Cup group matches.
