Italy face France in what is for both countries their second match in this United Cup round-robin group. The men's singles will see Fabio Cobolli take on France's Arthur Rinderknech. Time for our match prediction.

Both countries have been beaten by Switzerland who have already won the group and qualified for the quarter-finals of this outdoor hard court tournament. Second place could see a team qualify but they would probably need a 3-0 win here.

Italy has the best chance as they only lost to Switzerland 2-1. It was Cobolli who won his match with a marathon three-set win over Stan Wawrinka.  37 games were played and two tie-breaks.

Cobolli only won nine of his 22 matches played on this surface last year. His opponent Arthur Rinderknech had a 14-15 outdoor hard court record but did win six matches on his way to being a losing finalist in Shanghai.

Rinderknech lost to Wawrinka in his first match in this tournament. Wawrinka won in three sets with 38 games played and again, two tie-breaks were played. He leads Cobolli 2-1 in previous meetings and won their only match played on an outdoor hard court.
