Jaqueline Cristian and Clara Tauson, both unseeded, meet yet again in 2024 as they are set to do battle at the Transylvania Open. They will square off in the second round with the winner playing either Elina Avanesyan or Anastasija Sevastova in the quarterfinals. Clara Tauson defeated Cristian a week ago in her run to the round of 16 in Linz as a qualifier. She defeated her in the qualifying rounds in straight sets to take the lead in this series at 3-2. The Dane has had a strong start to the year and will be confident of another victory here.
