Third seed Ben Shelton will aim to extend his streak against Christopher Eubanks when the two battle in Mallorca on Wednesday. The winner of this second-round showdown will play either Arthur Rinderknech or Constant Lestienne in the quarterfinals. Eubanks won his sixth match out of nine on grass in the first round here. Ben Shelton started the week ranked 35th in the ATP which is a new career high for him. The 20-year-old arrives in Mallorca after being eliminated at Queen’s Club in the second round. The London tournament marked the first time that the American had competed on grass in his career. He will hope to have a prolonged stay in Santa Ponsa as he targets turning his season around. Shelton has struggled lately, and currently has lost five more matches than he has won. Having defeated Eubanks whenever they have met, he will be confident of adding to his win tally with this latest encounter.
