With their respective season openers looming large, Chelsea and Inter Milan will look to iron out their flaws this weekend. They will play a friendly match at Stamford Bridge in London on Sunday, with both the Blues and the Nerazzurri set to score goals.

This will be Chelsea’s last friendly before they start their Premier League campaign with a tricky home match against Manchester City. Enzo Maresca is still trying to get things right with his new club, as the Blues lost three and drew one of their five friendlies, winning just once. They come here on the back of a 2-1 loss to Real Madrid and need something out of this friendly to get some momentum for the start of the Premier League.

The Blues can take comfort in the fact that they have scored in each of their five friendlies, netting at least twice in three of those. Inter Milan, who suffered a 2-0 defeat to Al Ittihad in their previous match, could potentially continue this trend for Chelsea of scoring at least once. That was their first defeat of the pre-season, winning two and drawing one of the three matches prior to that.

The Nerazzurri are also still building up towards the start of the new season, which sees them play Genoa next weekend in Serie A. With both teams poor in the defensive areas, this match could result in some action at both ends of the pitch.
