Celtic FC will be back on the continental scene to take on Portuguese side Braga when the Europa League enters matchday two. The two sides had contrasting outings in the opening round of the competition, leaving Celtic sitting 17th in the league standings and Braga 14th. Read on for our prediction of this match.
Celtic haven't had a great start to the season, and going into the third month, they will hope things improve. The Hoops will be banking on their good run at home in Europe. They have one loss only in the last eight European home matches.
Braga will arrive for this game happy to get some distraction from the Primeira Liga. They aren’t doing so well domestically, but here they will hope to build on a solid performance on matchday one, which ended in a 1-0 win against Feyenoord. The visitors are yet to lose an away game this season.

Celtic - SC Braga: Form Analysis
Celtic will be looking to make necessary corrections to their 1-1 draw with Red Star Belgrade on matchday one. There’s still a dissatisfied mood across the fan base after they lost to Kairat Almaty in the Champions League qualifiers.
That loss on penalties is their only defeat so far in the season, but its magnitude will go some distance. The fact that they have slipped to second in their domestic league doesn’t help matters.
Celtic are coming off a 0-0 draw with Hibernian, another result that didn’t sit well with the home fans. A lack of investment in the team has been listed by fans as their biggest displeasure.
Celtic collected a point on matchday one as Braga bagged three.
Braga will head into this game also battling their own demons, but at least for them, it isn’t in the Europa League. Their league phase journey commenced in fine fashion, the team beating Dutch giants Feyenoord 1-0.
However, even before the celebrations died down, Braga lost 1-0 at home to Nacional. They have just one win in their last five matches and have now lost twice in the season.
There’s a reason for the visitors to be worried coming into this game. In their eight matches against Scottish opposition, they lost five times.

Celtic & SC Braga Squad Analysis
Celtic will once again look to Nigerian international Kelechi Iheanacho for goals. The newly signed forward was on the mark in the 1-1 draw with Red Star Belgrade and should earn a starting role here.
Meanwhile, the return of defender Anthony Ralston against Hibernian means he is a possible starter at right-back. With Kieran Tierney sure to start on the left side and Liam Scales partnering Cameron Carter-Vickers, the defensive lineup is complete.
Celtic’s Benjamin Nygrem has three assists in as many matches.
The visitors will definitely be aware they are lining up against a decent side defensively. That’s why Ricardo Horta, Rodrigo Zalazar, and Fran Navarro will hope to carry their strong scoring runs in recent matches.
The three have already scored a combined five goals but Horta will be a key man, after scoring 13 times for Braga last season. This match, however, comes too soon for Jonatas Noro and Mario Dorgeles, both still recovering from earlier injuries.
