In-form Caroline Garcia takes on Ons Jabeur in the US Open semi-final. Garcia is the 17th seed but is on a fantastic run of form at present. The French player has won 18 of her last 19 matches and the last 13 in a row. This includes beating four top ten ranked players and in July, Garcia also beat world number one Iga Swiatek. Garcia was ranked as low as 75th in June but her win over Coco Gauff in the quarter finals has her up to 10th in the live rankings. Beating Jabeur could see her go as high as seventh. That's still below the fourth place she achieved in 2018. Garcia is yet to drop a set in this tournament as she bids to win a fourth title of the year. This is her first ever Grand Slam semi-final.

Ons Jabeur is the fifth seed but up to second in the live rankings. The Tunisian is in her first US Open semi-final having not got past the third round in the past. A win over Garcia will see Jabeur in her second straight Grand Slam final. Only Shelby Rogers in the third round has taken a set off Jabeur in this tournament. It's been an easier route to the last four for the 28-year-old with no top 16 players beaten. Jabeur has won her two previous matches against Garcia. Both were in Grand Slam events, including one at the 2019 US Open. She meets a much better Garcia in this semi-final and the tip is for the French player to reach her first Grand Slam final.
