English Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion play their first home friendly of the season. The Seagulls are home to Serie A's AS Roma who have already played three matches with 16 goals scored. Hence, our prediction here of more than 2.5 goals scored.
These two clubs played each other twice in the 2023-24 Europa League. Albion won 1-0 at home but were beaten 4-0 in Italy. They will again be in European competition this season. Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League last season to qualify for the Conference League.
There have been several transactions in the transfer window with players such as Welbeck, Rushworth and Diego leaving the Amex. So far signings have included Luka from Spurs and Struijk from Leeds.
Their one friendly so far was played in Vienna over 120 minutes as they beat Strasbourg 4-3 after trailing 2-0.
Roma finished third in Serie A last season, 14 points behind champions Inter.
Their first pre-season friendly saw them draw with Cannes. They led 3-0 with two goals from Dybala but then made ten substitutions and ended up drawing 3-2 after a 97th minute equalizer by the French club.
Two more friendlies were played in Wales. They lost 4-1 to Cardiff but beat Newport by the same scoreline.
