December has arrived but Brighton's first Championship defeat hasn't. They top the table on 38 points two clear of Middlesbrough and have an excellent chance here to maintain their position as league leaders. Brighton struggled a times last season and a return to League One rather than promotion to the Premier League was a more likely option. This season though has been a totally different story and their home form is impressive with three wins in their last four. This weekend they're home to a Charlton Athletic side that are having a difficult season and are only a place and a point above the relegation zone. 18 league games have only produced four wins and three of those have come at home. On their travels they really struggle with just five points from nine games. Only bottom of the table Bolton have a worse away record than Charlton but they did manage to win 1-0 at Birmingham in their last away match. That could have signaled a return to form but then they lost 3-0 at home to Ipswich last weekend. This looks a great chance for Brighton to stay top of the table with a comfortable win.
