by Kennedy Kechula in NBA Predictions
The Boston Celtics will seek another win over the Phoenix Suns when they host them next to close out their regular season series. They are currently top of the Eastern Conference while the Suns are seventh in the West. Boston won the first matchup of the season in Phoenix less than a week ago. The win commenced their current three-game winning run. Considering how dominant they have been at home this season, this looks like another win for the NBA’s number one team. Joe Mazzulla’s men possess the best record in the NBA and have won 51 of the 65 matches they have played. They defeated the Jazz 123-107 last time out to end a five-game road trip. Jaylen Brown missed the game and has been listed as ‘Questionable’ here with a back issue. The Celtics have averaged 120.3 points over their last three matches.
The Phoenix Suns have stuttered recently and have lost half of their last 10 matches. This inconsistent form has seen them drop out of the automatic playoff places in the West. A win here though will see them get back to the top six. Phoenix, who have compiled a 38-27 record, are tied with sixth-placed Sacramento. Frank Vogel’s men bounced back immediately from their home loss to the Celtics and are coming off of a win. Having played fewer matches than Boston since their first encounter, the Suns could be a little bit less jaded for this matchup. They defeated the Cavaliers 117-111 last time out to begin a four-match road trip in the East. Josh Okogie and Damion Lee will continue to be sidelined with injuries and will not be involved here. Eric Gordon and Nassir Little are questionable. The Suns have averaged 114.7 points over their last three fixtures.
