Slovakia will travel away to Bosnia-Herzegovina on Sunday to close out their successful Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. The two nations have been competing in Group J where Bosnia-Herzegovina are fifth and Slovakia second. Bosnia-Herzegovina cannot qualify automatically for next year’s tournament in Germany. They can however try to secure their place with a successful playoff campaign. Savo Milosevic’s men sealed their place in the playoffs thanks to a strong Nations League campaign last season. They will hope to use this match as they have done with their recent fixtures, to prepare for the next stage of qualifying. The Dragons have won three of their nine qualifiers to amass nine points. They have lost their last two matches with the latest, a 4-1 humbling by Luxembourg, coming last Thursday.

Slovakia have already booked their place in Germany. This feat was secured on Thursday thanks to a 4-2 victory at home against Iceland. Francesco Calzona’s men, who have won six of their nine qualifiers, have an unassailable five-point advantage after accumulating 19 points. One of their victories was a 2-0 success over their soon-to-be hosts in the reverse match back in March. That win was their second in the five meetings with Bosnia-Herzegovina. Slovakia have won in their last two outings. The Falcons have now qualified for a third successive Euro tournament. An impressive achievement after making their continental debut in 2016.
