Boavista will look to record their first win in the new year when they welcome Casa Pia fueled by revenge at Estadio do Bessa Seculo XXI on matchday 18 of Liga Portugal. Boavista are 18th in the league, while Casa Pia are seventh. Here's our match prediction. 

Boavista finds themselves in an unfavorable position in the league standings. They are rock bottom with 12 points accumulated in 17 games. However, there's still a glimmer of hope that they can escape the clothes of the relegation zone with three points separating them from safety. 

Os Axadrezados did not start the new calendar year on a positive note. They lost 3-1 at home against FC Arouca, marking their second consecutive defeat.

To add salt to injury they have gone seven matches without a win in the league recording four losses and three draws since a 2-1 away win against Gil Vicente in the early days of November. 

Casa Pia summed up their first half of the season in emphatic fashion going unbeaten in four matches (D1, W3). 

The same can't be said about their start to the new calendar year. Os Gansos are winless in their last two matches including a 3-1 defeat against Rio Ave in the Taca de Portugal round of 16.

Their last meeting against Boavista saw them lose 1-0 at home and will likely be more cautious this time.
