As action resumes in the 2020 PBA Philippines Cup, all eyes will be on San Miguel Beerman taking on Blackwater Elite. The hosts Blackwater are 8th in the standings with a 2-3 win-loss record. They are only marginally ahead of the bottom-four teams. San Miguel are the away team and have a 4-2 win-loss record that puts them 4th in the standings.
Blackwater started with a 96-89 win over NorthPort, but quickly fell to a 99-103 loss to Ginebra. A 98-88 win over the Road Warriors followed although the 120-82 loss to Atalanta made sure that Blackwater had very little momentum in their results. Even against TNT KaTroopa, Blackwater couldn’t put up their best show and were defeated 109-96. More than a win from this match, Blackwater would be keen to get back to winning.
San Miguel are leaving teams high and dry with their aggressive play. Led by the big man Moala Tautuaa, the Beermen had a three-match winning run before this match. They defeated Columbian Dyip 105-98, Alaska 92-88 and Meralco 89-82 to start building up some momentum into their cup campaign. These wins came after San Miguel were able to win only one of their first three matches. That lone win came in the first match of the competition.
