Birmingham City will on Friday welcome Queens Park Rangers in round eight of the English Championship. The two teams are separated by four points on the table with Birmingham currently seventh and QPR 19th. Birmingham City won both home and away last season against QPR and will hope to pick up from where they left it. John Eustace’s men will have to perform better than they have recently if they are to add to this run. The Blues haven’t won in their last four games and have lost three times. Birmingham have lost their last two matches, the latest coming away to Preston North End. This run has seen them fall seven points behind the two automatic promotion places.

Queens Park Rangers have found it hard to win matches and have managed only two wins in seven league games. They have lost four times and with their seven points, are just four points above the relegation zone. Gareth Ainsworth’s charges drew 1-1 with Swansea on Tuesday and will want to build on this. QPR have lost four of their last six matches but did win the last time they were away in the league. The Rs defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 three matchdays ago. QPR have won one of their last two visits to Birmingham.
