Frenchmen Benjamin Bonzi and Arthur Rinderknech, both unseeded, will meet in the third round at the US Open. This will be their fifth career meeting and the first at a major. Read on to find our prediction for this match.

Bonzi has toiled to make it to the third round. He has played to five sets in both of his fixtures. In the first round, Bonzi produced the biggest shock of the competition thus far by eliminating former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev.

Propelled by that result, the 29-year-old fought from a set down to eliminate homegrown favorite, Marcos Giron. Now up to 45th in the live ranking, Bonzi is seeking to qualify for week two at a Slam for the first time.

Arthur Rinderknech has also dug his heels in to qualify for this round. In the first round, against Roberto Carballes Baena, Rinderknech won in four sets and in the process snapped a run of back-to-back losses.

In his next tie, he faced another Spaniard and battled from 2-1 down to eliminate 18th seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Rinderknech, who has struggled with inconsistency all through the year, is also seeking to qualify for week two for the first time at a major.

Advancing to this round has seen him jump up 10 places and into 72nd in the live ranking.
