Johanna Konta bids to make it two Grand Slam semi-finals in a row when she takes on Barbora Strycova in this quarter-final. Konta has showed improved form this year and will be back in the world's top sixteen after this tournament after being ranked in the 40s earlier this year. She has already beaten two of the top ten seeds in this tournament with a win over ninth seeded Sloane Stephens on Saturday followed by victory over number six seed Petra Kvitova on 'Manic Monday.' This is only her second match against Strycova, the first saw victory for her opponent two years ago on a hard court.

Barbora Strycova last reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals five years ago. She’s had more success in the doubles with five Grand Slam semi-final appearances. This year though she has excelled on grass and reached the semi-finals in Birmingham. Strycova knocked out fourth seeded Kiki Bertens in the third round and followed that up on Monday with victory over 21st seed Elise Mertens. It’s a big improvement on her Grand Slam singles form in 2019. Strycova failed to get past the first round at both the Australian and French opens and is currently ranked 54th in the world (37 places below her opponent). Aside from that quarter final in 2014, this is only the second time she’s made it past the third round at Wimbledon. Konta seems to have the most momentum coming into this game and the tip here is for the British player to get the win and set up a semi-final against either Serena Williams or Alison Riske.
