After beating the seventh seed Martin Landaluce in round one, Michael Zheng will be out for revenge here. He takes on fellow unseeded player Arthur Gea who beat him in a Challenger Tour final earlier this year. Our prediction is that Gea will repeat that victory.
The winner will be up against either third seed Francisco Cerundolo or qualifier Tristan Boyer in the quarter-finals.
Michael Zheng was only nine places above his opponent in the latest rankings. The world number 118 beat Martin Landaluce in straight sets in round one, losing seven games. It's only the third time this year he has made it past round one of an ATP Tour tournament in 2026.
These two players met in January in the final of the Noumea Challenger Tour outdoor hard court tournament with Gea winning that in three sets. Last week saw Gea reach the final in the Granby Challenger Tour event, also played on this surface. He has a 14-2 outdoor hard court record in 2026.
He's also struggled for success on the main tour. His first round win over Soon-Woo-Kwon took him into the second round of an ATP Tour event for only the second time this year. THe other was in the Australian Open where he beat Jiri Lehecka who is the top seed in this tournament.
