Arsenal quickly bounced back from that shock 4-0 loss to Southampton by beating Bournemouth 2-0 at home on Monday. That win took them to the top of the Premier League and they stayed there after Leicester drew 0-0 with Manchester City. It was a much more fluent display by the Gunners against Bournemouth and their home form is really helping build a possibly successful title challenge. Now they face a Newcastle side who slipped back into the relegation places after losing 1-0 at West Brom on Monday. They are two points from safety and take on an Arsenal side who have won the last eight meetings between the two sides. Despite some improvement in recent weeks you get the feeling that the Newcastle side that ends January will have a fair few changes from the one that starts it. They have just one point from their last three league games and have some tough fixtures lined up in the next few weeks. Arsenal are strong at home and on a good run of form at the Emirates, a home win with more than 1.5 goals scored looks a safe bet here.
