The winner of this first-ever duel between these two will play Arina Rodionova or Ekaterina Alexandrova next. Anna Blinkova returns to Hertogenbosch for her second appearance. She made her debut in 2022 and got out of the first round before unfortunately falling in the very next round. The Russian will hope for a deeper run this time around as she plots to take hold of her season. Blinkova, who has won 22 matches on grass in her career, has compiled a woeful 9-14 record. She had a torrid clay court campaign, managing just two wins in eight outings. The last time she was on the court, the 25-year-old lost in the second round at the French Open. Blinkova begins a new week ranked 60th in the WTA.

Emina Bektas made her debut in Hertogenbosch last year. It was quite the first tournament as she progressed to the quarters as a qualifier. She will be hoping for at the very least to equal this feat and end her tour struggles this year. The American is yet to win a main draw match at a tour event this season. She has participated in six tour events and four times she has been eliminated in the first round. Bektas, who has claimed one ITF title this season, has lost her last two fixtures. In her previous outing, she was defeated in the first round in the ITF grass tournament in London. This was the 31-year-old’s first appearance on grass this season. A former world number 82, Bektas is currently ranked 96th in the live ranking.
