Fifth seed Anastasia Potapova begins her Libema Open campaign. The world number 40 takes on unseeded Ann Li for a place in round two of this Dutch outdoor grass court tournament. Read our match prediction below.

2024 saw Potapova reach the last four of the Birmingham grass court tournament for the second successive year One notable scalp during that run was Barbora Krejcikova who weeks later went on to win the Wimbledon title. 

Potapova is up to 39th in the live rankings and still has an outside chance of being seeded for this year's Wimbledon Championships. The Russian won her only previous match against Li in straight sets. That was played on a hard court three years ago.

Ann Li has not got a good record on grass courts. The American has never won a main draw match at Wimbledon. Her last two times in the Grand Slam saw her beaten in the qualifying rounds. Last year's first qualifying round loss was the only match Li played on grass in 2024.

The year before that, Li only won one of her three grass court matches. The winner of this match will face either unseeded Suzan Lamens or a qualifier in round two. We believe it'll be Potapova who can win this in straight sets.
