Wild card Eliina-Gabriela Ruse faces the fourth-seeded Anhelina Kaliniina in round one of the Transylvania Open. Next up for the winner will be a match against either unseeded Suzan Lamens or qualifier Anna Bondar. Read our first round match prediction below.

Anhelina Kalinina is playing her fourth tournament of the year. Her first saw the 27-year-old (28 on Friday) make it to the last four of the Brisbane International. Since then though, Kalinina has lost three successive matches.

In the Australian Open, the Russian lost her first round match to Ons Jabeur in straight sets. Last week in Linz, she was beaten by the eighth-seeded Clara Tauson and is 49th in the live rankings.

Elina-Gabriela Ruse is down at 112th in the live rankings. The Romanian has only played in the Australian Open this year. That Grand Slam saw her have to go through the qualifying rounds with three matches having to be won to get into the main draw.

Round one saw her defeat fellow Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu in straight sets. Her run ended in round two with a loss in three sets to eventual champion Madison Keys. Ruse is 1-1 with Kalinina in previous matches but they haven't met for six years. 

Kalinina has won their only match on a hard court and we tip her to win this.
