Third seeded Andrey Rublev faces Grigor Dimitrov in the Erste Open second round. The winner of this match could face seventh seeded Cameron Norrie in the quarter finals. Rublev is the world number eight but sixth in the live ATP Race. He's looking good for a place in the end of season Tour Finals and a win over Dimitrov will strenghten his position. Rublev has won four ATP titles this year with the most recent being in Gijon last week. That followed a run to the semi-finals in Astana and a last eight appearance in the US Open. He was impressive in the first round of this tournament in Vienna, defeating Diego Schwartzman for the loss of just four games.

Grigor Dimitrov is ranked 32nd in the world and also in that position in the ATP Race. He showed good form earlier in the year but hasn't kept that going into the second half of the year. Before this tournament, he'd won only one of his last seven ATP Tour matches and that success came against a player ranked outside the top 100. Dimtitrov got himself back into winning ways with a first round straight sets win over qualiifier Thiago Monteiro. Rublev leads 3-2 in previous meetings with the most recent match seeing Rublev win in straight sets in the 2022 Indian Wells tournament. He's won their last two matches with Dimitrov not winning since 2018. Back Rublev to get another win over Dimitrov.
