Andrey Rublev has twice in his three DC appearances, qualified for the semi-finals. He will hope this is the year he finally goes all the way. The Russian, who has seen his performances wane in recent weeks, defeated Arthur Rinderknech in the last round. He won in straight sets to claim his 28th victory of the year.

The current world number eight has won two titles so far in 2024, in Hong Kong and Madrid.

This match marks the fourth meeting between these two. Frances Tiafoe has won twice in the previous matches against Rublev. Both wins were registered on hard courts. This run should have the American confident of claiming victory and progressing to the last four in DC for the first time.
