Tatjana Maria reached the Wimbledon semi-finals three years ago. Maria hasn't won a match in that Grand Slam since then. This is her fourth WTA Tour final and her first since 2023. Of her previous three finals, all have been won.
Amanda Anisimova is a former Wimbledon quarter-finalist and is up to a career-high 13th in the live rankings. The 24-year-old has not had any easy route to this final and defeated the top seed Qinwen Zheng in Saturday's semi-final. It's already been a big year for the American who earlier this year won a WTA 1000 tournament in Doha, though that was played on an outdoor hard court. Amanda Anisimova - Tatjana María: Form Analysis
Tatjana Maria remains a force on grass courts even though she is now at the veteran stage of her career. The 37-year-old German won an ITF hard court title earlier this year and is now going well again on this surface.
Maria has won 67 of her 101 professional grass court matches. Her 100th saw the German cause a big shock when defeating the second seed Madison Keys in straight sets.
It's been a long week for her with six matches having to be won. The quarter-finals saw her beat former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. There's been one previous meeting between these two players. Maria won that in three sets but it was a hard court match and played seven years ago.
Only nine players have earned more ranking points this year than Anisimova.
Amanda Anisimova is up to 13th in the live rankings but is now tenth in the WTA Race. Of her 33 matches played this year, the American has won 23 of them. That's the most matches she has won in a calendar year since 2022 when winning a career-best 33.
This is her second final of the year after winning a WTA 1000 tournament in Doha. The American has won four matches this week, two going to a final set. After beating the third seed Emma Navarro in the last eight, Anisimova had a three-set win over top seed Qinwen Zheng on Saturday.
