Alison Riske vs Serena Williams Prediction & Betting Tips - Wimbledon Qualification, England

Serena Williams is bidding to equal Margaret Court’s record number of Grand Slam singles wins. Seeded 11th for this tournament (though world ranked 10th), the American has been gradually improving. Only one set has been dropped to date, that was in the second round against Kaja Juvan. A win at Wimbledon this year would be her eighth singles victory but her first since giving birth to her daughter after last year’s final defeat by Angelique Kerber. In her long history of playing at Wimbledon, Williams has only lost two quarter-finals. 

Alison Riske is ranked 55th in the world but is in great form on grass at present. She won two pre-Wimbledon grass court tournaments with wins in Surbiton and the Netherlands. The latter saw her beat world number four Kiki Bertens in the final. Her recent Grand Slam record has been pretty appalling with only one win in the last seven played. That was a first round win here last year against a Lucky Loser. She’s been a revelation this -year though with wins over the 22nd seed Donna Vekic, 13th seeded Belinda Bencic (who beat her last year in this tournament) and then the shock win over world number one Ashleigh Barty. All of her matches have gone to three sets with a 9-7 final set win over Ivana Jorovic in round two. Riske may well be a danger and a lot depends on how Williams starts. A bet on Serena to win this match is the suggested tip.
